Today I started on two new sites, they are right beside each other in the same field. One is an old homesite and the other is the site of a one room school site. Here is where I was today.........

first good target of the day was on the school site, and it was an 1892 Indian penny, always a good start

next was another interesting piece, it is this ultra tiny statue of liberty, not sure what it is, perhaps a small piece of jewelry?

got another indian shortly after that, this one was a 1900.......here are both of the IHC all cleaned up, they are a lil rough from all those years in the field fertilizer

Next I thought I'd move down to the homesite to try it out a bit, I kept getting solid penny signals and every one was those copper things that they used to hold on slate roofs, man those give a good signal!

I got an odd looking buckle, ...........then the find of the day for me, 1951 Ohio Chauffeur badge. This is a find I was real happy with.

here it is all cleaned up, turned out real nice!

Looks like you've got yourself a couple of nice sites ... the IHs are nice but the chauffuer's badge is a really nice find and in good shape as well ... nice job with the photos too ... good luck on your next hunt ~ Jimmy

Great digs, and the badge is something that is worthy of the display case, it's in GREAT condition!

It's amazing what one can find in a farmer's field...

the badge took some work, first I cleaned it with warm water and soap, there was some corrsion on it, so I soaked it in lime a way for 15 minutes, that ate most of the corrosion off, then I took my dremel tool and attached a cloth polishing tip and shined it up a bit, I think it turned out real good

Those look like top notch sites, congrats on the finds and hope for many more...

Those are a nice collection of finds, especially the badge! The buckle is off of a horse harness used by farmers in the good ol days ;D

I love hunting old field sites. :icon_sunny:

Fantastic finds. The liberty badge looks like it probably came from some celebration at one stage, maybe a birthday for the statue of liberty. the Chauffeur badge is very nice, im sure someone will be able to tell you who it belonged to, why would you need a to be registered as a chauffeur anyway? I mean you don't get badges for all the other types of work do you?

God bless
Peter

It's amazing the things that are buried out in these fields, great job
