Started with surpise

Well I had plan a hunt with couple of T-net members set everything up and woke this morning when to my garage and turn the lights and saw water all over the floor , dang there goes my water heater. So nm dan show up my house so took him and Mr blue sky to my premission and they had a nice day out at ft. Fillmore, I was able to hunt for 2hrs and didn't find much. My best find was some kind of hook and brass plate with a T on it , any ideas what these items might be

Sorry to hear about the water heater...been there and fixed that! Smart guys will come along but your J hook maybe a sword hanger and the metal plate may be part of a uniform shoulder epaulet! Cheers, Sub

Same here with the water heater not to long ago, nice you got out for awhile, congrats on the finds

The hook is a belt adjuster for a Model 1851 saber belt. The other piece is the top part of a shoulder epaulette, where it was closest to the neck of the wearer. The epaulettes had multiple components, and the T shape is where a key or tab locked them all together.
