Every weekend since middle of May, I have been finding bits and pieces of gold at garage sales. They are scrappy pieces like thin kinked necklaces and bracelets, thin flat light charms, one earring, etc.. I even bought a 18k child bracelet that was bent for a dollar. I ended up getting $96 from the scrap jeweler. Total in all with 10k and 14k was $612. Not bad for 2 months.
I did keep some of the gold. Here are just a few pieces; from right to left
* 14k white gold eternity cross with gold chain - $3
* 14k 49ers pendant - $1 (the lady running the garage told me it was gold too)
(weighs 3.9 g) signed on back - its Michael Anthony
I added a 14k chain to it that I got last year at garage sale for $2.
*18k chain - $1. (weighs 5.9 g)
~ I was at a flea market a couple of weeks ago and this silver basket caught my eye. I figured it was plated but I checked anyway. I was surprised to see "sterling" marked on bottom. I walked up to the lady and held it up and asked how much? I held my breath with anticipation. She said $8.
I was sooo excited and happy to hear that price! The hallmarks are very clear on the bottom of basket.
*Basket weighs 19 oz.
Handle moves up and down.
~ I believe this is a "Bride Basket"
>> Does anyone know how much these baskets go for ? I would think it's more valuable than just scrap. I wouldn't scrap it. It's too nice to scrap.
