I have a complete 30 pc, 5 place settings of sterling. Would I be better off trying to sell as replacements OR just scrap it?

It's been my experience that the less ornate patterns don't sell very well. I guess if you have a retail outlet you might eventually get more than melt for it but I doubt it would be worth the time & effort. Assuming you know a reputable refiner you should get about 90% of melt.....keep in mind sterling is generally between 89-92% pure. With silver at $40/troy oz you should get between $32 & $33/troy oz.
