Stone Axe?

Found while bushwacking in Massachusetts. It was sticking out of the ground and has a small ring of stones around it.
Far away from any trail.

I'm not sure about the long rock, almost looks geofact to me but the whole thing REALLY looks like a marker for something. I would dig that area really well. Also a cleaned up picture of the potential axe would help towards making a definite call one way or the other. Happy hunting. :icon_thumright:

I just googled 'geofact'.
I guess it could be made by nature. The head is very even.
I never considered that it might be some kind of marker. I'm sure a human planted it in the ground like that.

I'll try to get back out there and clean it off and take better pictures.

Yeah there's no doubt in my mind that that is a marker for something. Could be someones old stash or it could be a grave. I'm very interested to see what you will find. happy hunting! :icon_thumright:

I can't dig it. I can't bring myself to poke around something like that, know what I mean?
The more I research things like this, the more I believe it is a burial.

Man i am super curious to see whats down there but your probably right. Messing with graves is definitely bad ju-ju. If you know anyone with a metal detector it wouldnt hurt to scan the area just to make sure. I am about 85 percent sure that's a grave though.
