Hello all.....sorry I've been away...I haven't stopped searching for artifacts, just kinda cut back my internet use.....more productive that way.

Anyway...I found this item in a field where there are a LOT of flint chips of all colors present. I didn't find any points....just a lot of chips.

Anyway....it LOOKS like it could be a stone bead...I WANT it to be a stone bead but I'm unsure. It's definitely stone. I don't believe it's ceramic, certainly not plastic. The main thing that is throwing me about it is the appearance of a "seam" when viewed from the outside edge...see pics. Not sure my pictures capture it well enough but I can see grooves inside the hole as if it were drilled out.

My daughter said it's a petrified cherrio

I think you're right....I've seen crinoid stems before but not separated into discs like this but looking at mine with a magnifying glass shows the "seam" around the circumference of mine to look very much like the joints in a crinoid stem plus you can see the same feature inside my specimen so yeah...crinoid. DANGIT. Lol.

Thanks again!!

I was gonna say i seen them all over in Missouri and yet your in Mizzery

Still cool.. I found something similar along time ago and wanted it to be a bead also.. The one you have is a perfect circle unlike mine.
