There has always been a debate about bird effigys that had been knapped out of stone. 1st let me say that the Eagle effigy that we see so much of is not ancient, but these were found on a controlled dig.

Just something to think about!!!!!!

Not sure what it is but I see where your coming from. Carved or natural I don’t know, but on this site it’s natural, other places maybe not. Who is right? The smarter the poster, the less definitive their opinions.

Who knows, maybe he’ll post authentication papers next week.

There was once a guy on arrowheadology named dave that had more portable art than you ever saw.

At what point is it no longer portable rock art and just rock art? Depend on the size of the native? Is there a limit to the distance it must be portable 10'.... 1/4 mile? Just learnin this stuff haha!

I always call them portable if I can throw it half way across the river. That's how I know its portable art.

Thanks for everyone's comment on the pic of the rock. I didn't mean to cause a controversy over this and have someone censored. I feel everyone gave their honest and open opinion which is the intent here I thought. I'm not offended by anyone's comments. I'm just a regular person, not a faker or seller and I'm not the Dave on the link above. This is a great site and am looking forward to posting some of the other items I have found for comment.
