I found this object in a stream bed in southwest Connecticut. Any thoughts?

It appears shaped as a scraper or axe, edges are quite sharp and the base is squared off. It is 5 inches long and weighs 625 grams; feels very heavy in the hand. I haven't identified the mineral, but I haven't come across it in the area (I'm an amateur mineral collector).

Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks.
