Storky Field & 2nd Fav Field...

Still trying to work out where best to spend our time. Spent 3 hours on a very storky oilseed rape field. I call it the field of 500 as last year when we discovered it we had over 500 Roman Bronzes in 6-7 weeks. Only managed 3 scrappies today, so will give it a miss until its ploughed.

Then tried our 2nd Fav field (Barley stubble), which we hammered last year & really want a deep plough. But it looks like our best option with 3 scrappies in 45 minutes.

Still waiting for the Wheat

Ouch.... sod that reape seed stubble your a brave man to do that still you managed some finds, from a tough time

Some of them damn storks were so high I stabbed my finger whilst pushing the spade in

All we could do is walk in a line & not swing or micro swings in the tyre tracks

Still, we gave it a try, & will wait for better times..

Your father and you had some great looking finds! Considering the soil conditions that you had to work with I think you did well. I really like to bronze crotal bell and the musket ball. In your forth photo, what kind of coin is that in the upper right corner?

Not so bad on 2nd fav, as you know its more sandy. (pretty hard on tyre tracks but OK on rest)
