Awesome coins. Can't believe how nice they came out if the dirt. Congrats

Ooooh! Me like. Hardly ever see a Barber coin found this nice. Great MD'ing!

Just looked at the 1899 obverse; the "spot" on the neck is is easily blown away...dirt The cleaning method...running tap water only! They were found 1/4 mile apart in the woods. Rhode Island soils must be kind to silver!

Very nice dig! Congrats!

awesome finds! i love when they come out looking that good!!

really good shape,thanks for sharing

The condition is amazing!! Congratulations.

Sweet finds. All I've found is clad in my yard. Haven't been out much. I need to start doing some serious research, especially here in lower Michigan.

fantastic barbers!

I still haven't found a Barber, so I suppose I shouldn't tell you how beautiful yours are. If I was allowed to tell you, I'd also say congrats!

Nice coins, but if they were STRAIGHT from the dirt, wouldn't they have some dirt on them? :laughing7::laughing7:

Good point. I neglected to add that I put them under running warm water at home; no rubbing or scrubbing. The soil was very fine (sandy-like) but not like the beach. The 1899 one was about 5" deep near a tree root, and the 1901 was about 2 inches down in a hard packed, rocky woods path.

Don't know why Old Dude's quote is below; I was replying to Steve in PA: "Nice coins, but if they were STRAIGHT from the dirt, wouldn't they have some dirt on them?"
