Straight shaft Question ?

Why Is It that A lot of people use the straight shaft, instead of the S one that came with the detector?
I ve never used one, so I can't figure it out .

Why dont they come stock with a straight shaft? Seems like it would be easier to make a straight one instead of a S.

You can hunt 6 hours and still go more. IT TAKES ALL THE STRAIN OFF YOUR ARM.

Hmm yes...we can tell you've never used one!

Seriously though, the "s" shaft (i'm assuming we're talking the Excalibur II here?) is the most lethal piece of equipment known to mankind! After an hour or two of use you WILL cry quietly when nobody is near you!
Why Minelab supply it instead of a straight shaft when after all these years of whining and complaints from users, plus seeing everyone tell everyone else that the first thing to do with a new detector is "buy a straight shaft!"....i just dunno.
