Strange Coin

Hello T'Netters. My buddy dug this last week at a colonial cellar hole site. It sounded like another copper but it has some strange markings on it. This site has given up a handful of colonial coppers, a couple of reales and a bunch of large cents. It's about the size of a large cent. The back side of the coin (?) is fried. Any ideas would be appeciated.

Got a photo of the backside of this coin. Appears to be an outline of a shield ?

First thought is a Mexican Hacienda Token.
Any chance to see the reverse NWS it being 'fried'?

I'd be inclined to agree that its a Hacienda token.
