🔎 UNIDENTIFIED “Strange metal dental-looking object found along historic route — what is it?”

Hey everyone,

I came across this piece of what appears to be a dental bridge earlier today, and I’m trying to learn more about it.

Location Context:​

This was found in Upstate New York, along what is known as a historic Native travel corridor / Great Council route between Binghamton and Utica. That added a layer of curiosity for me—unsure if it's purely modern or if there’s any chance it ties into older activity along that path.

Thoughts:
Given the location along a historically traveled route, I’m curious whether this is:

• Just a modern lost/discarded dental piece
• Or something older that ended up along the corridor over time

Would love input from anyone with experience in dentistry, history, or metal recovery.
