"STRANGE VAHLAND ARCHECTURE AND LOST GARDEN PATH[ 1854- 2007]
In 1854 a large number of the rich gold miners built large homes above the creek, on a hill top called "Veiw Point".At the highest point sits this old mansion {Lansellstow}.During the 1870,s the mansion was give a face lift by a German Archect {William Vahland} and additional work added. Bit of history at this link about Vahland.

The mansion is now disused and sits in the grounds of the local catholic school.Recent removal of over-grown garden has revealed old paths and garden beds.I asked the school -caretaker about the site and he said yes to the garden area only and the rest of the school grounds are deemed no go area. The mansion had a quite a few owners and was purchased by the school in 1982.
Well the i had a bit of swing and dig and gained a couple of keepers.Sure the people with lived here were rich so why do i only come up with a trade token and 2 colonial coppers and a club badge from the 1970's and part of a brouch.I don,t think just one gold coin lost would too much to ask for.
. Seems i will have to look else where.
