Amazing piece. You could probably scratch it in three different places and get various results between 10 and 14 karat acid. I wouldn't advise scratching it three times...

I love gold that is easily worth twice melt because of the quality of work or the fact that it is antique... Great pick! $45? All day, every day pick that...

Amazing locket. My bet is it is 12K. Most of the unmarked gold victorian pieces Ive found have turned out to be 12K.

I think you are right about 12kt. It faded a little with the 14kt gold acid.

Outstanding find!! I definitely would have had $45 less in my wallet and this piece in my pocket as well.

Mix a drop of 10k acid and a drop of 14k acid on the stone and let it run into the test scratch.
