Relic Hunting
We had a hot and wet summer here in northern Middle Tennessee. A cool front last night dropped temperatures from 91 mid-week to the 50s this morning. Doug and I scouted a new site on a large property. In less than an hour, we located where relics were present. We dug 3 three ring bullets, Merrill Carbine bullet, .44 Colt conical Colt pistol bullet, and 3 .36 cal. pistol balls. We dug a few iron relics and Doug recovered what appears to be a brass mainspring piece from a Springfield rifle. He also nearly went into cardiac arrest with a brass oval relic in the bottom of the hole that looked like plate until he saw it was a brass cow tag! Not our best hunt but it was fun to kick off the fall season with a successful scouting trip. Enjoy the video & happy hunting! Doug & Quindy.

Nice hunt Q, I had one of those big cow tags scare me to death once. They really sound good and look just like a plate at first sight. Glad you guys got out. Thanks for sharing.

I am so glad you guys got out and your scouting payed off. Been missing the videos from the Tennessee guys. Dry here still no rain over in this area. 90 days over 90 degrees.

Richard, we had 20+ inches of rain from 6-1 and 9-30. We have not hand ANY measurable rain in October. You folks in SE Tenn. are still in a severe drought due to little summer rain. Good luck this fall with deer and relics my friend. HH, Q.

Nice hunt Quindy and Doug! I'm glad y'all found a new spot. (Doug, maybe that cow provided milk to our CSA boys.) :laughing7:

:)

Nice hunt and vid Q. Looks like the place has good potential. That could have been breast plate would have been a heart stopper for sure.

Good to see you guys out hunting again Quindy. Looks like a promising place too. I'll call you in a day or two.

Awe man! When I read your email I couldn't wait to see what Doug found! Dang. Cow tag. lol But it's the thrill of the hunt, huh. ;) Congrats on those finds! I bet ya'll will find a bunch more relics there this year. Thank goodness summer is all but over. Now we just need some rain.
Enjoyed the music and the pics!
