Sumpter Trip Pt 2

After Sumpter we went to a couple of the Lost Dutchman Mining Association owned claims in the area. I was rather loving the first spot til I found a snake right under a rock I picked up to move! That would be right where the gold pans are sitting in the rocks...notice the proximity to my chair!! I moved! We decided to go to the second claim only to find out that the stream had dried up to a trickle and I wonder why LOOK at that temp!! sheeesh! time to head back to the A/C!! and a late lunch!

ummm I was plenty quick moving but left the camera where he was...then when he stuck his head back out after I got the camera again.....wasn't quick enough!

I was afraid to sit all the way down in that creek....afraid the snake would poke back out and I would not be able to get up and run fast enough! lol I did however keep my feet in there and splash myself quite a bit...also had a huge umbrella in the pickup and managed to get that all set up as well. I was the birthday princess! rofl

We pretty much always do! We had a blast til we got a couple of calls from contractors and had to come home! Such is life! We will stay longer and find gold next time! We brought home some material to pan at home so we still might find some!

It's coloring made me think it was a rattler but I did not see or hear any rattles and was quite content to run and never ever know!

There is definitely a wide variety of scenic areas to visit! If you ever get out this direction make sure and let us know so we can visit! Maybe even pan for some gold!

Sis it looks like you had a great time! I wish I was there! Well as long as the snake was not near me. I deffiately would have moved on down! That red neck restauraunt reminded me of the Buck rub pizza pub we went to snowmobiling

I wish you was there too! especially when I saw the snake....I screamed snake and jumped back and David didn't seem fazed at all...after a couple of mins of me yellin bout the snake he is like " you need me to come over there?" DUH! You got the shovel ya goof! lol I think he thought I would get rid of the snake with my lil plastic scoop and keep feeding the sluice!
