Sunday Artifact 5-17-20

As the old saying goes "dynamite comes in small packages " 1 3/4 by 1 little coral Newnan found by me about 2 feet deep in the sugar sands of Hillsborough County Florida. I did soak it years ago in mineral oil, to keep the look as it looked when I rescued it. I tried to take a pic of it indoors but it didn't turn out that great, I figured the translucent pic will make up for that.

Hey, very nice. I have never tried mineral oil, but I usually will hit mine with a little coconut oil after some warm water. Really brings the shine on a piece a chert. Hopefully I’m not messing them up applying to coconut oil. No idea,but sure makes them look nice. Thanks for sharing

I’m headed to Tampa in two weeks. Any good places to take a look? I’ve been gone from there for 40 years so, none of my places still exists for hunting. All houses and interstate now so I’ve been told.

It's been 8 years for me, all I can say is if you see any area on Hwy 301, it's worth a look.
