The quarter is a peach.

How about posting your saloon token?
It is quite rough but it can be read.
The front says "The Point Saloon"
The back says "Good for one drink or cigar"

The token was found in Utah and is not in the "Utah Trade Tokens" book or either supplement.
It is going to have to be attributed, which I am going to start researching on Monday.

We got pendants that looked like yours during our high school graduation. It was called a senior class key.

Great assortment of finds. Really like that lock.

Thanks for that!
I guess if I had graduated high school I would have known what that was.
Ah well, should have listened to mom.

That token has a lot going for it. It is rough, but besides that.... you have "saloon" so you are set...

Good luck on the research and attribution!

Interesting post.

I almost suspect that you are from Utah.

There is such a huge market for tokens in this state thanks to H Robert Campbell and his book "Utah Trade Tokens"

You are right, Saloons are especially sweet and it was a heartbreaker for me to find this token that was in this shape.

On the front side at the bottom is where I suspect the town name would have been, but the letters are so worn that I cant see a thing.

Awesome finds! That token is amazing. I found my first one the other day and I'm fast becoming more interested in them. Great finds.

Congrats on that!
What kind of token was it?

Thanks! It says "Jackpot winner Gift 5 points Stockmen's Hotel Elko Nevada" It had a hole in it, but I saw 2 other ones online that had holes in the same spot so I think it may have come that way. No date, my guess is 50's or 60's.

Mucho suweet finds amigo ;D Always nice to shag a few marbles as a bonus

Yes, but I'd not worry too much about the condition since it is unlisted. Thank you for taking the time to do the research and get the token listed. I love it when we MDists can make Solid contributions through our research and our finds.

Best Wishes,

Nice silver and cool looking padlock!

I usually hunt peoples yards that have the grass removed (lots of knocking on doors) or construction sites.
I dont think that I have ever hunted on grass.
If its dirt and historical...Im there!
