Well, the weather was totally awesome today....what a nice cool breeze....sunny day...fresh sea air....totally relaxing!!!
First we went to the GEM show at the Convention Center...hubby got me a nice necklace...an eagle carved from stone...I love it...I love eagles!!!!! And it was only 3 bucks!!! My kind of price!!! The boys got some stones and we were able to see some Garnet and Jasper in the rough. Oh, and an OPAL...I love OPALS!!!! We were hoping to see more in the rough to get an idea for when we go diamond digging in TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY (but who's counting...hehehe). One man told us of a mine in North Carolina in Glendon, where you can dig and keep what you find. Mostly Pyrite...my son loves Pyrite!!! So, may be making a trip there too....also found a few mines you can dig for gems and stuff in Arkansas...will see if we are able to fit one day in to dig for gems, beside at the Crator of Diamonds.
I wore my eagle to the beach, as I figured it would guide me in the right direction...sure enough...I hit my first penny and then my first dime for the night and they say 3 is a charm.....it most certainly was...a beautiful earring...couldn't find the other half...but that's ok...I'll have the stem removed and then mounted on a ring base and I'm gonna' give it to my daughter. Didn't realize that it also has 2 small diamonds on each end....looks Jade to me...beautiful!!!!!! Gonna' look so pretty on my daughter's finger!!!
This earring was a DIME signal....and had the hardest time finding it...kept falling through my scoop!!! I was NOT expecting to find this...I love it!!! Sloopy said it may be white gold...but I found NO MARKINGS on it at all....hope it's not fake
...but either way, I still think it's so pretty!!!
Met some nice folks...ran into Sloopy (a local), really nice fella, not a TNet member, but made sure I told him about Tnet. He was telling me of something he found, patented in 1906 about the Emancipation. Told him to come on and post it here...with all the knowledge ya'll have on here...someones bound to come up with an answer. He said he's called different places on it with no luck...but I told him he had to come to TNET!!! So...let's see if Sloopy will join us! Hope so.
Then I met Eric and his wife, Angela....another super nice couple! Eric's on another forum, but told him to come on over here...and told him about the next Pipsico hunt...I think he might come to the next hunt!!!
I lost my hubby (I may have to get a lease for him....he always runs off...someday I may stop looking for him LOL)....and as I was looking for him, ran into Eric and Angela again...Eric was such a sweetie...he thought he saw a man in a red shirt with a detector and went after him....sure enough...it was hubby! Kids...no matter how big they get, they still wonder off!!!
We sat in the sand with them for about an hour and saw a few meteors in the sky. It was really cool!!! Then they had to leave, as he had to be at work at 4:30am, or rather get up to get ready for work, I should say. We stayed about 30 or so minutes longer and then headed home as well, but not before seeing the firework display!!!
