I hit another old site earlier tonight for about 3 hours, and managed to find a few old coins. This is a site where a house once stood in the 1800's, but there's nothing there now.
2 indians, a 1907 and an 1896. The 1896 was stuck to a wheatie when I found it. Of course I was hoping for 2 injuns when I saw them! And of course when I pulled them apart, it kinda ruined the Injun.
And I found my first half cent, a holed 1826. I gave it 2 hot peroxide baths before I took the photos.
I found all 3 coins within the first hour of hunting, then it started pouring, so I waited in the car for about 20 minutes till the rain stopped, then I hunted another 2 hours with no more luck.
I was sure I'd find some silver after the rain, but nope! Maybe next time.
They were all in the 6-7" range.
Thanks for looking. TBK.

That is a GREAT half cent. Nice work on a short hunt.

The half cent is great. You don't see them every day. Nice hunt. If thats what you found in an hour, I'd be anxious to get back there. There's gotta be a few more hotspots.
