My dad and i went out md this morning. I should start out by saying I am new to the hobby and my dad had never done it before. Well we went to 2 small parks and had a little luck. My dad picked up some junk metal and 31 cents in clad. I found 1.14 in clad and a pewter charm from a charm bracelet. all in all not to bad.

Any day out with your Dad is a good day. ;D

How true. Wish I could do that again.

Right, Just a start. Persistence, stick with it and it'll pay off.

Best, and keep going with your Dad as much as you can.

I started metal detecting about a month and a half after my dad died; what I wouldn't give to share this hobby with him! Finding good stuff would be a bonus.

Cool finds, sounds like a great day out there, congrats.

The charm is actually a shoe fob I think. These things are super popular with the little girls right now. I have found hundreds of them over the past two years.

Smiles!

yep its the best I should of started this years ago. But at least theres no time like the present and Dad got addicted to this faster than I did. Nice finds. I think the heart letter is adorable

Thanks for all the feedback, i think my dad was going to look for a detector of his own tonight on the internet, ijust may have gotten him hooked lets hope.

Nice finds StLHunter... Be sure to keep dad in the picture as much as you can... ;D

This post is happy, and sad for some of us.

It is so great that you soent the time with your Dad.

anyone remember the song Cats in a Cradle?

The dad didn't have time for the son when the kid was little, and the son didn't have time for the old dad when he grew up.

Make time for your dads, if you still have one alive.

Someday you'll wish you would've.

Best, Ken

Nice going SLH. Congrats on the silver. That is a great start to a wonderful hobby. Warning. It only gets better!!! Lance
