Sunday's Seven Silver Smorgasbord!

I got up early on Sunday morning to get some swinging time in on the site I found the Barber half at last Monday night. We have had a ton of rain in the last few days and has made digging and detecting excellent. I was hoping to find a few more hidden treasures and I lucked up on a few for sure. My first good signal, soon after starting was a Washington and I was hoping this would be a good sign of a nice hunt. This is a big area and signals are spread way out. You can go for a while and not dig anything but it's an awesome rush when you get over a good signal. I had a nice spill with a Washington and a Merc and the sterling fireman's helmet is a cool little piece. I don't think I have ever got 4 silver quarters in one hunt. I lucked up on the last one walking back to the truck and dug it about 10' away. That was the perfect way to end a great hunt. It's not often I luck up on 7 silver in one hunt. HH-David

WOO HOO! Holy Cow! Super hunt with $1.30 face value in silver coins! Then the two way cool silver jewelry pieces is just crazy. I know E-tracs love silver but, this is amazing. Great digs and "luck" had nothing to do with this in my opinion. You obviously know your machine and selected a spot with good potential. Well, your spot seems to have GREAT potential. Well done mate.

Thanks for the nice words Kurios! Location and luck is huge and persistance pays off. Any decent machine would have found these coins it just takes getting out over them. I've been detecting off and on for over 20 years and I'm still surprised and amazed of what's in the ground. It never gets old digging out old coins and relics. And trying to tell the story of how they became lost is as exciting. Good luck to ya out there!
