Sunoco Token found

Found a Sunoco Token on a new permission. Also found a cookie cutter, buckle, rabies tag, some modern clad and part of a two-piece button? Sunoco used to give out tokens as part of a promotion in the 1970's.

The property owner wants the rabies tag & cookie cutter. I got to keep everything else.😀

Shell Oil company came out with their Presidential promotional coin series in 1968. The winners collected $1.00 up to $5,000 ($30,000 today). Sunoco noted Shell's promotion was so successful they came out with their own promotional antique car collection in 1969.
I remember buying quantities of the Shell tokens by 'quietly' paying the 'gas jockey' directly.

I've found a bunch of the Sunoco and Shell Coins / Tokens - they cleaned up real nice in a Electrolysis Bath.

They are a Common Find around here .
there was a 2nd Series The reverse was This
They came out Late 69.

Although there was a 3rd Series, in 1970 I think they were in Sets by Mail order, & Not Sunoco Never found a 3rd Series in the Wild

and a presidetial series
over the years

My dad would give me a token every time he would stop at Sunoco to get gas. I was never able to complete the game card. But I still have the cards.
