Yellowstone is not the only supervolcano out there, but I assume you knew that. Now I had to check, Stromboil itself is not in this class, but there is one not far away from it that has been quite active lately.

The volcano at Stromboli, Italy, (Sicily) is erupting today. Hope, no heck with "hope", I pray it shuts up soon.

Check the news. Could be horrid. There are already youtube videos up on it.

If you can’t take the heat, don’t live near a volcano.

I can see it now..."Volcano Emissions" tax...:laughing7: :laughing7: :BangHead: :BangHead:

Got-Good-Tones

Yes, Icewing, that was also brought to my attention. I don't think 20 is a normal amount at one time, but I'm not sure. And 3 over mag 6 earthquakes the day of the California quake is also interesting.

Stromboli is the world's most active volcano. Volcanoes happen all the time. Earthquakes happen all the time. The crust is moving constantly, we have mountains and valleys and continents. It's not unusual. It is not the end of the world. It is not an indicator of something coming. Relax.

You are right Kray, but we must be vigilant. The hiker killed on Stromboli was doing the "eco tourist" thing.

Do you really believe that? I guess something's been wrong for 4.5 billion years. Earth movements and eruptions are frightening and dangerous things. No doubt. But let's not make them out to be more than they are.

Earthquakes and volcanoes have nothing to do with climate. Oh wait, you're saying the Earth is telling us, through the manifestation of these things, to clean up our act. The Earth is a thinking entity, capable of planning actions, to warn us humans?

Well, I don't believe that, either. I didn't watch your videos, by the way, ECS.

If man were responsible for global warming, how come the polar ice caps on Mars are melting? Something to keep you up late at night. Or maybe not.

...and you don't think that man's industrial pollution has not had an effect on Earth's climate?
Its natures way of telling us, and hopefully we will listen before its too late.

I have been to Pompeii in Italy.
Mt Vesuvius erupted and buried the island in burning ash.
Yep, it happened because we pulled out of the Paris accord.

Against the wind, yeah, Paris accord, yeah, that's right, sure, any day! My dad was in Italy in 1944 when Vesuvius erupted and I still have some of his pictures.

2 more days of watching earthquakes on the news will make me buy earthquake insurance.

The cows can't afford the insurance.

Pkease keep all political comments out of all forums except our politics forum unless it is directly related to treasure hunting.

Treasure_Hunter, cows STILL can't afford any kind of insurance.
