Howdy Folks,

This morning I went by the park down the road from
my house. I hunted an open area that I have hunted
several times before.

10-5-4.jpg

Itā€™s a huge area and finds are kind of slow there, but it
is the site of several yearly events where people have
fairs and booths set up for selling all kinds of stuff,
including jewelry.

Nothing was found to speak of.

I was separating the clad and a button I found. I was
fixin to chunk all the rest of the stuff in the trash.

I noticed that one piece of trash has some tiny writing
on it. I got my spy glass out and read what it said.

SUPPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what this thing is.

11-7-3.jpg

But it is 14k white gold!!!!!!

11-7-4.jpg

And it weighs 1.6 grams. Iā€™ll take thatā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦..

11-7-5.jpg

I wasnā€™t even going to post anything until I noticed the
writing on that 14k whatzit.

That makes me wonder how much gold I have thrown
away?

Well, It just goes to show. You donā€™t know til you know.
And then you canā€™t be sure.

That"s a slide off of an old bracelet. a chain ran through both sides and consisted of a bunch of those. I would keep searching the same area, there's bound to be more of them!

OK, that's then for sure gold! I would do what twilliams said and search the area slowly and carefully, there must be more then laying around. I am confused many times of things we find with a metal detector, sometimes you just cannot find out what it is.... but the forum(s) help much!

Great save,,, Congrats on the gold...
I would have to guess it's part of a bolo tie as well... Here's one I found the other day with similar holes in it.

Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~
