I just wear regular sandals because I tried the water shoes and if you get sand or shells in them you have to stop and empty them. With sandals I just give my foot a shake in the water and I’m ready to go.

I use dive booties. You get the added benefit of keeping your feet warmer. I used the Neo Sports like RTR has, but, I found the bottoms too thin and soft. While walking in rocks, shells, coral, and hiking over rough terrain, they were too hard on my feet. I got some Mares dive boots with a harder sole. Still decent enough to hike in, but, more comfortable. I found their zippers worked better too. Get some bootie socks also. They make putting the booties on and taking them off so much easier.

I was wearing out normal dive boots fast from the scoop. I now wear 6.5mm Mares tall zip up hard bottoms. Thicker so they don’t rip OR smell over time.

Mares are the ones. With the hard sole you can walk or bike anywhere wearing them. Very comfortable.

I have used scuba booties in the past and they work great in the water. But you wanted something you could use in and out of the water. A friend bought some water shoes called Aleader. I found them online and my wife and I really like them. Work great to push the scoop in and also to protect your foot from shells and rocks. Water and sand wash right out. Look them up. Aleaders

What the Mares offers is ..... easy on and off with the zipper...... tighter upper to keep out more sand and shells..... hard bottom because that scoop WILL wear out soft bottoms much faster..... and a fair price at about $62. I cant stand shells getting in my shoes...... ugh.
