My last hurrah of a 2 week vacation was to visit Gary’s place.... I’ve beaten the snot out of this permission for the past 2 years. There is nothing left.
Then I got the AT MAX, proof that no place is hunted out.
4 hours of reaching for the deepest signals I could find, I couldn’t believe that I squeezed out another silver.... the ugliest Mercury dime I’ve ever found!:laughing7:
5 wheats, little lipstick, a bullet, and a mini coke bottle, it’s been a while since I’ve pulled on of those...
Now I’m curious what’s left in previous places I’ve cleaned out....

Thanks for looking!:hello:

Nice work I've found way uglier mercs

Nice hunt. I don't think we ever completely clean a place out.
I'm hoping this hard freeze we've had will percolate a few more goodies at some of our old sites.

apparently you will keep posting threads until I say good job

ok, good job, now go to sleep for the winter like us yanks

This will be it for a while Jeffy, back to work tomorrow, but then the 3 day weekend upcoming.....
I might play golf though....

I'll be in gulf shores AL for a week

any silver is good congrats!

BigWaveDave, You did well on that hunt, but remember this condition change on sites do weather conditions and the wetness or dryness of the soil and many other factors come into play here? That is why you missed those some times before Good luck with your new max.

If the mint mark under the black crust is a "D", it's not ugly.

Nice merc and wheats. Even better feeling when you pull a goodie from a worked over site. The max is definitely no slouch in the depth department.

I’ve gotten foot deep 3 ringers with my Max but singles are scattered a lot of the times. But once you’ve learned those good bad signals it pays off some of the time. Problem can be about going deep you have to DIG deep and this Louisiana clay can get rough on the shoulders.

Great job with some good finds! Isn't it something how a different machine or sometimes just
a different coil can pull finds that we just knew were no more.

What year is that merc

That some good sloppy seconds. Congrats.

Nice work Dave, I still find stuff at some of my honey holes. I used to alternate between my AT Pro, XP Deus, Excalibur II and CTX 3030. I sold my CTX and AT Pro and now just alternate with different programs on my Deus and use my Excal. My one lake spot during the summer I hit on a daily basis and still occasionally find some goodies. I have found ugly Mercs also. I found two that were kindof corroded and flaking off in pieces. That's the only way I can describe it, I thought maybe it was a bad silver mix (after all they are 90% silver, 10%???) I love that coke bottle.

Nope there's nothing ugly about a hundred yr old (1916)? old silver especially from a beat site, well done on the latest recoveries that you missed.
