surprize in the pan

i know you can find diamonds quartz deff and other gemstones in your gold pan but can you find amber in the gold pan maybe shells or opals?

Sure but less likely - shells are light so they tend to get quickly shed when panning (lots of shells in the South Platte where I've done a fair amount of panning/sluicing). opal is very soft so it would tend to get ground up by the river pretty quickly most places.

i would think amber would slide out too bc it will float in salt water
