I am needing some advice. I recently moved to Southwest Florida and am new to metal detecting. Wondering what would be a good detector to use on the beach for wet and dry sand.

Because wet salt water sand is conductive you need a mutuality freq. detector that won't false. If only hunting dry sand any detector will work.

Welcome Redbud! You don't mention a budget, but the Minelab Excalibur II is a great water and beach detector. Multi frequency so that the salt in the sand doesn't affect it.
