Nothing spectacular but it is a little of what I saw today.
Was at the old hunting cabin (100 year old corn crib) and the rain came in. Nice to just sit and hear the rain on an old tin roof. Peaceful. As the rain let up I saw a couple of jakes. I put a stalk on them and got a picture. They were soaking wet. We needed the rain.
Take care and thanks for looking.

Nice pics. You could sleep really good listenin to the rain on a tin roof, but then the dogs would get into a fight underneath the house and wake everybody up. Grandpa would yell at them then we'd all get back to sleep. I don't spose that happens much anymore, does it?

There isn't anything quite as good as rain on a tin roof----we just had 1/2 inch come pouring down a couple of nights ago. I swear I could hear the old earth give a great big sigh of relief. One of the meteorologists was saying on the news that we've been in a "flash drought" here in Okla. because we had all those days in the 100's. Weather is supposed to cool off this week, though--daytime highs in the upper 80's/lower 90's and the nights are going to be in the low 60's. :hello2:
Good pics., TnMtns, glad you got some rain, too!!

Sweet, wonderful rain, we have been getting showers here & there, but need a 'general rain'.
Those pic's remind me of when i was a boy, sitting in the barn loft, eating dried peanuts off the vine, listening to the rain, & smelling the sweet feed the cows were eating down below, good memories.

Thanks everyone for the kind replies. It is nice sometimes to just be able to sit and relax. The smell of that rain was as nice as any flower. Hope everyone starts to cool down real soon. No matter how cold it gets this winter I do not think I will be wishing for warm weather :icon_sunny:

Groundskeeper. Somewhere I have some pics of one on the porch step when I arrived one time. He kept slipping under the cabin everytime I pulled up. My friend ended up killing that one because of his young son. I try to move them if possible sometimes you have no choice but to kill them though.

I dont blame you on killing the ones that hang around the house...Just last week my brother/paramedic had to take some girl to nashville she was weeding and a Copperhead got her...

Love that old place ya got there. I spent a few nights under a tin roof in Virginia one time and we did get rain one night. One of the best nights sleep I ever had.
