Someone else said something to the effect of "If's he's been working this site for awhile why hasn't he taken lessons or taught himself how to scuba dived and gone in?" That's got to be one of the most asinine things I've ever heard and obviously not spoke by a scuba diver. Listen bro, I'm a NAUI licenced diver for 15 years and also hold a NAUI certificate in Diver Rescue. I've dove lakes, rivers, oceans and beneath the ice. Telling a dude to "takes lessons" and jump into a pitch black underground grotto with swift moving water and a rope man above (his buddy) who also doesn't know anything about diving is in complete ignorance of your own life. Give your head a shake.
As far as Kidd deleting some of his posts/pics/threads in the past I also know something of that. We've been talking for some time now. As i understand it Kidd needed $ backing due to the difficulties outlined above. He found some people interested who promised him the world. Then they wanted maps from him and GPS data. Failing that they wanted him to go out to his site and call them on his cell. Anybody can guess what was happening here so he backed out and lost his $ backing. I woulda too. He's back to square one. An "intriguing" site but difficulty accessing it.
Guys, demanding proof he's clearly said he doesn't have yet but is still working on and then lambasting him for not providing it is utter stupidity. Also accusing people of falsely "talking up" potential sites etc when there's nothing there is weak. You know who you are. As discussed previously all these threads and pics and stories are "potential" and we'll never know the truth; we aren't there. If somebodies site came to fruition you'll never see a post entitled "Guess Whateverybody!!?!? I'm a millionaire!!" Just won't happen. So stop demanding to see someones riches that they're not entitled to disclose with you.
Agreed this is an open forum and you are entitled to your say. That's where the grey area comes in. I just object to the way the "naysayers" (you know who you are) go about it and the way an open minded sceptic would go about it. Two different things.
Kidd, please go on with your thread, share your pics however you got them and whether they're Kodak perfect or not and we'll discuss them in and enlightened matter. Believe me I'll call BOGUS if I see it and I'll also sit back and scratch my head at the possibilities if I see it. And some of your pics have me scratchin'' my head.
Lambasting others to “protect” the integrity of the thread is not called for.
Being a certified diver, you should have taken the time to explain to that poster the safety issues at hand, and the dangers of that task. The asinine crack and other belittling cheap shots were not called for.
Several other cheap shots have been taken, in guise of “trying to keep the peace”. I want Matt to continue taking pictures and positing, if he chooses to do so. But, I refuse to sit idly by while another member labels me (and others) as naysayers, because we are skeptical and lecture us...all the while belittling and demanding we post to please them.
