Thanks , Ben . I got one less finger to hold up when I'm countin my friends .

Condolences on the passing of your friend.

But, you should keep that finger up and counting - real friends never die - as long as they live in your heart. They are always a part of who you are.

Thank you . Those words are a comfort to me as I hold my own personal wake tonight .
He will be cremated tomorrow and his ashes scattered on the farm he loved so much . 900 miles
away from me and I have no chance to get there .

Well, I agree with that Sgt. Rhodes. Truckinbutch, don't never forget him. Sorry I never met him, and sorry about his passin.

So sorry friend. I can so totally feel ya.
(2 passed, within 2 days, this weekend for me)

Is it important to be where ashes are,
or to bring your friend alive, from within your heart,
everyday, no matter where you are?

All said with love, honey.

No sense being there now butch. I remember, years ago, my brother in Calif. was talking to our grandmother in Wis. She asked him when he was going to come visit her. He told her he was real busy and didn't really have the time or money to make a trip out there at that time. Then she asked if, when she died, was he going to go to her funeral. He said, well sure, he'd probably go out for that. She said that wouldn't do her any good, she would like to still be alive for the visit. You couldn't be any closer to your friend than you are right now. I always figured, if you leave no friends behind, you failed in life. You're a sign of your friend's success.

Thanks , all of you . The quiet life I live now leaves me time to share time with my departed friends .
You are right . As long as I don't forget them , they are not gone .

Sniff .
