There are lots to choose from, starting at Clearwater beach and just going south...... Get a good scoop, since your detectors are not waterproof you want be able to get in the water but lot of wet and dry sand to hunt....

That's pretty much "spring break" is'nt it? Clearwater for sure if it is...maybe see ya then...Bill

Plan on using your Vaquero more.

Of the two it is the best suited for beach hunting.

The manual ground balance will at least give you a shot at wet sand hunting.

Keep a cover ove rthe control box to keep sand out. There is a lot of it carried by the wind.

Coming from Vegas and will have free time 2/13 & 2/17.

Planning on going to Venice to hunt shark's teeth one day.

May see ya.

You can find more shark teeth at Blind Pass ( Middle Beach) just south of Venice Beach.

Clearwater is a small beach with lots of competition....

Yep, ahaulil, the city of Venice in 1990 or so decided to pump sand from offshore to make the beaches wider, which they really didnt need. And this covered the first reef which was full of big sharks teeth, and all the sand which contained the small sharks teeth. So no sharks teeth are actually found in the city of Venice anymore. On the beach anyway. I grew up there, and you used to be able to get a handful in a half an hour. The city limits goes down to about the fishing pier, Sharky's restaraunt is there. So from sharkys pier and South, it is good sharks teeth finding, Caspersons beach, Manasota Beach, Middle beach-South of Manasota public beach, and Englewood beach, are all good places to find sharks teeth. Anywhere people can get access is good to detect too.. Now diving off of Venice is still good for sharks teeth, but you have to be out about 700 feet from the beach.

I had heard about Venice beach, I had planned to go to one of the places you mentioned.
Thanks

I detect some of the west coast beaches in the winter, but in the water with scuba when the conditions are right. But as far as sharks teeth , if you dive off Venice you can find some nice ones. If you dont dive , wait for a hard westerly wind and go to Nokomis beach on Casey key. When you get on the beach walk about 2 miles north and start looking. I have found some nice teeth here. But diveing is your best chance. Good luck.
