I went and wiggled my GB knob and it was solid. Maybe I just got lucky when I bought it. If Tesoro told you some knobs did that I wouldn't worry about it unless it falls off. Then it at least is a free fix.

HH, :hello:
Sandman

I just talk to the shop i bought it from,(Detector Depot) and they said they will take care of it..
I feel better now...

That sounds like a good detector shop and that is why I like specialty shops and will pay a little more. My Tejon GB nob is solid as well. Good luck

They always treat me right and give me the best prices. I buy all my new detectors from them.

Tesoro should be ashamed to tell you "some nob wil do that" What a load of Bull!

I agree but as long as it is made right, then I'm a happy camper. Tesoro did tell me to send it to them and they would take care of it so i still think their customer service is top notch.

Old Bill,
Maybe you should call us/Tesoro before commenting on stuff you don't understand, as usual… all of the 3 & ¾ pots do it to some degree, within a given tolerance which is more noticeable on some. If you don't like our equipment, that's fine....go buy another brand. You always come on here and bash certain models....and production. Contrary to your opinions, we have a lot of happy Tejon customers!

There is slight play in the GB pot if wiggled from side to side. This is normal. This is not noticeable during typical operation, only if you physically try to wiggle the knob. I actually asked this question when I first started here. It has to do with the fact that the knob turns continuously, and has 3 & 3/4 turn adjustment (where the ball bearings and shafts meet). All bearing and shaft controls have some play, whether it is noticeable or not. We use high quality parts, made in the USA whenever possible.

As always, we stand by our products and will repair them for life.

The GB knob on my vaquero does the same thing. It doen't affect the GB'ing so I just left it as is. If it ever breaks, I can call and get one sent to me. :)

Big Dig, yes a few thousands of and inch side play is normal but to me as reading the post it sounded like it wiggled from side to side. As far as your products go they are great but the way it looked you were just kissing it off!

Big Dig, "my tejon moves side to side, (kind of wobble).." If a pot on any device wobbles that is more than normal bearing clearance! And to set You straight I have over 50 years experience in Aircraft Electronics and do know something about hardware!

On my vaquero, only the plastic knob wiggles noticably, not the pot itself. :icon_thumright:

Well to me a little side movement is OK but wiggle from side to side is not great depending on if on the plastic knob wiggles or shaft wiggle. If it is shaft dirt can in time enter the area and cause problems but if merely the knob wiggle mean cheap hardware and not a proper fit.
