Teller's Dream Tray (another new CRH term?)
Okay, so yesterday I take a ride to look at a boat I thought I may be interested in buying (I didn't). I haven't been in this town in several months, and thought since I was early for the boat inspection, I'd hit the local banks.
Anyhow, first bank had $70 in hand rolls ~ "I'll take 'em" and they do have some silver in them, but I ain't gone through them in detail yet, just opened and edge searched in the parking lot. Several silvers.
Next bank ~~~ "Hi, can I help you?"
"I dunno... I'm looking for half dollars and large dollar coins".
"I have $3.50 in halves, and $11 in large dollar coins. Would you like them?"
"Sure. I'll take 'em all."
She pulls the tray, and picks up the halves and begins counting 'em. I can see silver as she's doing so, and she closely looks a discolored Ben before setting it in the pile. She then counts the big dollars and sets them with the halves and I ask if there are any more coins in the vault. "Yes, $450. Would you like some of those?"
"I'll take 'em all."
Meanwhile, I'm about to piddle myself...... I KNOW there's a Ben in the halves, and the tarnish on most of the Kens I see indicated 90%. She goes and gets the box. I ain't looked it yet.....
Anyhow...... the three-fifty was four 90% Kens, one Ben, and two 40%ers.......
The $11 in big dollars had a '22 and '26 PEACE dollar in 'em!!!!
Talk about a "Dream Tray".....
