Telluride

Hello, I purchased a partial ownership in a claim NW of Telluride on the San Miguel river. Anyone know the area or been there? Going to prospect and detect. Lost treasures or ghost towns would be great! Hoping to be there in June. Thanks!!

There is placer gold to be found in the San Miguel. Not too sure about detecting for nuggets, but there are folks washing gravel west of Telluride near Placerville.

All through out the San Juan mtns there are ghost towns and old mining camps that are fun to explore. Be careful metal detecting these sites though. It is illegal to remove artifacts from the National Forest.

Pretty area and not commercialized except for in Telluride.

I am Steve Burgess from the High Tech 49'ers . We are located in Colorado and one of my associates has just invented a new style of sluice box called the Uphill Riffle Sluice. I just tested it on Clear Creek on a private claim and was able to capture gold Telluride ore in my sluice box. I have never been able to do this prior to using his new design. I know that the Delores and San Miguel rivers contain a tremendous amount of gold telluride ore and most people don't know how to recognize or process the ore in order to recover the gold. I was curious if you would be willing to let us test and film his new invention on your claim and we would split what ever we find with you as the claim owner(s).
