Relic Hunting
With the temperature in the upper 50’s and only a few light rain showers in middle Tennessee this morning, the Tennessee Trio just had to get in a 3.5 hour at a late 1862 U.S. Inf. & Cav. camp.
We had a fair hunt by our standards as Dman scored another coat size GS eagle button, Josh dug 2 underwear buttons, and I recovered an Infantry Officer’s eagle “I” cuff button. I think we had 27 bullets total including .36 and .44 cal. pistol balls, .44 cal. Colt conical pistol bullets, .69 cal. musket balls, several 3 ring .58 cal. bullets, and Josh dug 2 .54 call Merrill carbine bullets in the cavalry part of the late 1862 camp.
Doug searched for another part of his bayonet but to no avail. Josh dug into a fire pit and dug the unusual ball crammed into a 3 ringer that was close to the heat in the pit as shown in the pic and on the video. He scored a brass finial for a cap box on the way to the truck. No banner finds today-just more relics for our display boxes from that 9 day camp used in Dec. 1862. HH from the Trio and enjoy the video, Quindy.

That's a good 3.5 hour hunt if I ever saw one, You guys put on a better show than any of these reality show wannabee's are selling. Need a producer ?

Thanks Michael. We usually have more footage but that's a big area and we were widely spaced on that hunt. We need a psychiatrist more than a producer-LOL. Thanks for looking, Quindy.

Awesome CW artifacts my friend.. Hopefully soon I will wake up and see a post "Found CS Buckle" can't wait

Once again, great hunt guys! I like the bullet within a bullet. I can't believe that place keeps producing like that. They were only there for 8 or 9 days! Congrats to the Trio and am still amazed at that place!!!!!!!! How many relics have you guys found at that site? Tennessee digger

Donnie, I think I have about 240 and I'd say the Trio has well over 600 total not including the 1830 LC you dug when you hunted with us there. HH, Q.

Looking good for sure! Awesome relics and looks like it was a lot of fun.

I'm scouting another CW site tomorrow Doug so wish me luck. Q.

Bill, that BIB was an unusual find. We will continue to wonder about that. HH, Q.

Randy, January in Tennessee has mostly been crummy weather for detecting. Fortunately, the Trio can usually pick one good half day each week to hunt. Hope you get out, Q.

Glad you enjoyed the video CPD. We will have another soon depending on the weather. HH, Quindy.

JB, we don't have Banner finds each hunt but can usually dig enough good relics to post and make a video during a 3 to 4 hour hunt. Thanks for looking Bud, Q.

Glad you enjoyed the video Robert. HH, Quindy.

Thanks MT4. We may dig a little more in the fire pit. HH, Quindy.

HTD, we will have to be super lucky to dig A CSA buckle in that Yankee camp although Josh did dig a CSA Staff Officer's button in the tent lines there last spring-probably a war souvenir. HH, Quindy.

It's always fun Bird. I'm sure the weather where you hunt is keeping you from relic hunting. Looking forward to your next hunt. HH, Q.
