Relic Hunting
Tennessee Digger (Donnie) recently shared a nearby location where he knew CW relics had been dug with the Tenn. Trio. Since I had more time to check it out than Doug and Josh, I made 3 short trips to the new site and quickly found the relics in the area. They were scattered plus some were deep. However, the absence of campfire lead and brass is more indicative of a short term picket post than a camp. My scouting trip recoveries are in the pic with the white background.
The other members of the Tenn. Trio (Doug & Josh) joined me this morning for a short hunt at the site since I had the relic location area somwhat pinpointed. . I warned them (as Tennessee Digger had warned me) that the site had been pounded for years so don’t expect much. We managed a few bullets with Dman scoring the only .69 cal. Big Boy 3 ringer. The finds from our short 1.5 hour hunt today are displayed on the Modern Miner "Relic Rag" he sent us.The surrounding terrain certainly merits a few return trips as a large undiscovered U.S. camp may very well be nearby. It felt good to get out with the Trio this morning. Thanks again Donnie!!
Thanks for looking and HH from the Trio, Quindy.

Only you and your "gang" could find anything there! That place has been pounded for many years and what is left is deep but I know that you guys could find a little there. Congrats and you may be right, there may be a nice camp around that area somewhere! Good job.

What? You put Quindy in FRONT of the camera and he goes quiet? No 'yehaw's' or 'heck yeah's'? hahaha! Get with it Quindy!
WTG on finding those relics! No doubt ya'll are going to have another spectacular hunting season this year. ;)
Nana
:hello:

Congrats on finding some goodies in such a pounded area, but best of all. . .just being able to get out and swing in the gawww-just weather we're having now. Way to go! Breezie

You clowns crack me up! When Dman said he found his bullet "under the dirt" I about pi$$ed myself. :laughing7:
You guys sure know how to squeeze the last bit of lead out of that Tenn soil.
Congrats on another productive hunt.

Quindy,
I was hiding it the trees and got a shot of you and Dman hauling off your CW lead. Is that a Tenn Prius?

Not a bad day for you guys, probably not your best but a great start to the Fall season.:icon_thumright:

Way to go Quindy, et al .. That was a great way to kick off the season!

That was a fun hunt. I have discovered that most of the relics are in the dirt.

D-Man is really catching on to this hobby. :tongue3::tongue3::tongue3:

Thanks Donnie. Each member of the Trio has 5 extra boxes of nice relics directly attributable to your help, experience, & research. HH, Q.
Nana, I'm camera shy as you know. I hope Lisa gets well soon. HH, Q.
Thanks JG. I found a necklace there on one of the scouting trips. It was a very expensive blue glass bead one-LOL. Thanks for looking, Q.
Breezie, having all the Trio members together made for a good day whether we dug anything at all as you know. HH, Q.
MM, please don't encourage Dman any more than you do already-LOL. HH, Q.
JB, It's unusual that "The most interesting relic hunter in the world' owns a clothing store and gets his hunting shirts at Goodwill-LOL. HH, Q.
C-Girl from Tennessee, we'll do better, I promise. It was fun to kick off the season. See you at the Nashville CW show in Dec. Q.
Thanks Rob (Creskol). Make sure and let me know if you are coming through middle Tennessee my friend. HH, Q.
Dman, you need to write a book for newbies. It was fun today and hopefully we'll have more productive ones when crops are harvested. Q.
Donnie, Dman's a natural. HH, Q.
Richard (Old Stonewall), I'm looking forward to more of your finds from the "Bread Basket of the Confederacy" this fall my friend. thanks & HH, Q.

Thanks to everyone who took time to view our post.

If Dman can learn to find bullets in the air instead of underneath the dirt, then he wouldn't need such a loud, annoying machine to swing.

Are you upset that I mailed that sorry sonofagun his minelab back from LA yet? :laughing7:

Not really Will. He mostly uses his F75 anyway. As you found out first hand last Jan., HE is more annoying than ANY machine on earth-LOL. He's still telling that joke too. HH, Q.
