I think you may find that buying a Tesoro on line will be what the manufacturer gives for a package. Sometimes if you go to a dealer, you can sometimes get a free gift or two. However, those packeges / gifts may get you started, but usually lack in quality. Usually just gimmicks to get you to buy from them. I try to go local and if I cannot I have a couple of dealers I like. I find that Tesoro detectors are top notch and worth the money asked.

Richard of Backwoods Detectors is the best dealer there is in my book.
Email: nw4p@embarqmail.com
Real Name: Richard Robinson

Richard is just making a new website that's still under construction.

He's been a top respected dealer for a long time. He's fast at shipping and honest.

Understand that due to Tesoro's sales rules all dealers are locked into one lowest price on Tesoro detectors.

But, contact him direct and ask about extras.

Thank you for all the responses and help. I got my Cortes and like it very much. The only thing I'm still not really sure about is the threshold knob and if I need to be in a certain mode for it to work.

you need to be in the all metal mode for the threshold to work in discriminate mode it goes silent
