Tesoro Tejon

Hi, I purchased a tejon from my dealer about a year and a half ago. The detector has been great expect i have alway noticed everything i find is less than 3 inches deep no matter how the detector is set up. Example I had a good signal and dug about a 6 inch deep plug fliped the plug out of the hole upside down and no more signal so I fliped the plug back over and there was a merc. dime about 2 inches deep. It has been like this since i bought it and I thought maybe it was just me but my buddy has the same detector and he couldnt get mine to do any better. I also have a Bandido 2 and it go deeper than my tejon. Can anybody tell me if this is normal?
