I have a friend in texas who pays land owners to dig on their property, he uses shacker tables and trenches along rivers and streams, all 100% legal and he has found thousands of artifacts which he then auctions and then sells what doesnt auction off, it is how he makes his living and he does quite well too.

Not splitting hairs TH-but isn't that just a screening table? I can't see how it shakes-though a very nice set up and have set the thinking wheels into motion once again.
There's a few sites I'd love to screen out as the iron is just too much, yet the finds are just too lovely to leave. When I dug my GW button, military, coinage, tokens, relics, it's just has to be done.

The screen he is talking about vibrates and does well in really rocky midden type digging. My screen is made to run 20 tines as much dirt per day but I dig much more sandy soil.

Ricky Etheridge builds those vibrating tables. He recently built 2 for Jeff Foxworthy to use in Georgia. They wont do the volume i run but are more economical and a drastic improvement over hand screening. If anyone needs his number, pm me.
