With all the rain we have had in the North Texas area of late, I have not been able to get out much. Hit a park today that dates back to the 1920's. It was very wet and muddy and at least twice my shoes sank underwater...argh.

I knew I would find something decent when I spotted a 1963 nickel right on the surface. On a sloped area near some old picnic tables my ATP rang out a dirty 75 signal. Figuring it was trash I dug about 8" down and out pops a 1910 wheat. I'm still learning the hobby 8 months in but it feels good to knock a 100 year old coin off the list. I thought it was an "S" mint but after cleaning with water (second pic), I don't think it is.

Also found a nice piece of petrified wood as a bonus.

Kevin

Nice piece of wood. We have brought many pieces of petrified wood back from our winters in Arizona. We have a petrified wood garden outside our front door.

The AT pro is doing well finding pennies at 8"down.

Thats a good sign of some deep Silver!!

Congrats on your 100+ year old coin!
