Thank you, for all the 1974's

It has been a grueling weekend going through the boxes. I have more NIFC's to deal with and to top it off I have about 5+ rolls of 1974 in a quality I have yet to encounter in halves (except proofs). The rims on these are blinding. Not to mention both sides are like a mirror. I guess they still have (mint luster) to them. The 1972 in the pic. is just to compare. Happy hunting to all.

And yet ... still worth only 0.50 each. :-(

But some GREAT looking older halves. :icon_thumleft:

I see what you mean....great shot tho

Beautiful picture. They look like they just came from the Mint.

Re: Thank you, for all the 1974's

I have had a similar experiance with 1977 and 1978 halves, but only they had a nice toning to a lot of them... I kept a roll of each date(ones that lok the best to me), I am not a coin grader though.

Nice find though!

Throw them on Fee-Bay. You just never know... Nice pic. HH Doug

Thank's ya'll for the props on the pic. Old 6.1mp Kodak camera. Still kickin. I will flip them and go from there. May pick out the best one and pay for the grade. Need a referance coin to bounce the eye off of. I know the summer fun show is due here in July, so see what the fee will be. Happy hunting to all.

if you send one out to get graded, remember... a coin has 3 sides... the obverse, the reverse and the edge, always consider the edge before getting the coin graded because even though when in the slab you don't see the edge, the person grading the coin considers the edge sometimes as well, if theres a nick or ding or even a minor mark, can lower the grade... pointing this out because I notice in the nice quality photo that some coins have something on the shiny copper edges.

Hope this helps,

i too have had the same problem (many many many 1974's in the same shape as yours) from my boxes, but mine are all "D" instead of "(P)"...still havent gotten a D.D.O. though from them...keep it up and hh! [R.I.P. Rich Hartford]
