Been so busy it seems that there's no time to post up anything that I do dig. I do get out for a little here and there, and there's always something coming out of the dirt to keep the passion running. I treated myself to a Deus in April, and have gotten out a few times, a different type of machine from the Minelabs but it's interesting to go over the same sites again.
This why I would like to thank Scrappy and his reference to changing the setting from 18 to 8khz. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/t...-permission-handful-coins-militaria-more.html
So being new to the Deus and will jump down any rabbit hole of information I went out to a bottom feeding site. One where a person has picked it so many times that a piece of brass is a good. So I've been there once or twice with the Deus and picked out a few buttons and bits of brass. Today the site came alive again changing it to 8khz, so either I suck at cleaning place out or this setting works.
Nothing too great except for the killer button, the other ones aren't too shabby either having the shanks still intact. So here is the finds from the picked over 1 acre site, and about a 1 1/2 of time. Fresh out of the dirt as I haven't had time to clean up anything, the dirt was just wiped off.
1812sh RN Military Button, J Manns is the maker. One has to love the look of a find when it first shows its self from the soils, one just has that feeling it's going to be a keeper.

So the nonferrous finds were pretty plentiful, oval umbrella slide, four buttons, part of a pewter spoon handle, little clasp, brass chain master link, newer bullet, toe tap two of the buttons were laying on top, but just under a cob of corn and stalks. It was interesting thing to note that once I picked them up there was iron directly under them. So they might have been masked from previous trips.

The iron-well who doesn't dig iron? Seemed to run into the knife blade section of the site, all different. Complete Oxen shoe, and one hex headed knob which is a first and no idea what it's from.
Thanks for looking, and don't be afraid to try a new setting.
