No, packerbacker, I DIDN'T consider it unusual to find a US flag. But finding a Belgian flag in the US, let us say on a beach, seems very unlikely to me. Belgium is a very small country... 33.000km?, about the size of one of your (smaller) States, I guess. Pop = 10.000.000.

But you are right : all finds are good, since they are FUN, packerbacker !
