For this week's hunt, I decided to check an area that I had previously thought unlikely as the location of the spot I've been looking for--an area down by a lake front.
I guess my silver sense was working, because I scored a silver dime--the only problem being that the area I found was not an 1850s gathering spot, but instead a 1960s gathering spot.
The pennies are 1968 and 1964, the dime is a 1964. The pull tabs are also 1960s vintage, and the pipe lid fits the mood of the era as well.
The one identifiably old item, a 1901 Leader shotgun casing, was not even a detected find--I spotted it visually while scouting the area! Figures, eh?
