This is yesterdays takings after 5 hours on a sticky field with gale force winds. Quite a work-out!
We have now finished gridding out as far as we need from the Roman site & the 7 Roman Coins were found by going back over the better area from a different angle.
I got the Hammered just as we were giving up & doing our last run. It was found on the neighbouring field on the out skirts of the Saxon settlement & gridding over an old track-way.
Silver Steak alive again.

7 Roman Coins - 1 good one of Gallienus.
Crotal Bell
W&M Halfpenny
1806 Halfpenny
Watch Winder
Medieval Belt Stiffener
Hammered - Henry V 1430s Penny (Calais Mint):coffee2:

The reverse of the Henry has a very nice strike. Looks good!

Great early bell too. Congrats Cru

Your finds never cease to amaze me. You have recovered really old history. Here in the states if we find something in the 1800's or 1700's it is old to us, but your finds are awesome. Congrats my friend.

Awesome coins! The one with the guys that has spikes/or a crown and a deer maybe on the back, is that the Roman Gallienus? I really like the looks of that one!

Congrats again! Still killing it with the hammereds

Quite a haul on Christmas Eve! I bet thats not the last Silver for this year!

Wonderful Relic and Coin hunt! :notworthy:

Yeap, the reverse inscription is for Diana (Goddess) & shows a deer, as you stated. It is Gallienus & he did some of the more interesting animal series, which are some of my fav imagery as well.

Christmas Eve, Eve actually but our luck has to run out some time, & our options are all now going to be punts....

As always we are drooling over your finds from this side of the pond Cru. Merry Christmas!
