Alright, i lost track of who has found one. so lets get everyone with one to tell us what year and the story.

I found mine out of a helluva box. I Dont remember the exact numbers, but I had a t least one of each ( 40,90,ben,walker, and one barber)

no time restrictions, box or hand rolled.

and to take it one more step, dare I say......who has found the fabled seated?

I found a 1906 last week out of decent box that had a couple of 90's, 40's, and seven beautiful proofs. First box for me from that armoured car service though. According to GMan's tracking list "anonymous" found a 1838 Capped Bust this year.

Oct. 2006 was an awesome month, I also found a 1908-D Barber quarter and a 1906 Liberty nickel.

Amazing.....simply amazing. I have yet to find anything older than war nickles and silver washingtons.

You are the man.

My second or third box ever yielded two in the same box! I got a 1910S and a 1904
Since then, they are the only ones.
Lots of 40s 90kens bens and walkers since.

I have been given permission to update the name from anonymous... and will do so when I update the tracking list next... for now I will withhold it...for suspense. LOL

I have found 2, in 1998, in hand rolls. Scored 7 full rolls of Walkers and Bens, with 2 Barbers as well, a 1906-O and a 1907. Also in those rolls were some mint state Walkers from the common years as well as some of the rare early Walkers that were worth some serious coin (like $20 to $30 coins...probably ten of them).

I know who it is.....ha......but my lips are sealed. A well deserving person I might add. That is a MAJOR find!!! It is unreal that a coin like that was still in the wild......that is why this hobby is so much fun.

I can't remember anyone finding an older US coin since I have been in this forum. Does anyone have any info or remember someone finding an older one?

A friend that I got started into this hobby found an 1858-O Seated Half in the first month of their CRH'ing.....now that just isn't right....ha!

My oldest is an 1899-S Barber half that was found earlier this year. This year I have found 4 Barbers. Last year I found one which was a 1900. I would have to look up the other three that I found this year but they were all early 1900.

I found one dated 189? last month 2 weeks into searching halves. Went into the bank, asked for rolls, the teller says yes, we have $400 worth.
"I'll take them all", I replied.
As I received those rolls, I noticed the initials CRH on every one and my heart sank. Oh well, went home and searched them anyways, and after roll #398 was opened, that Barber fell into my hand, and I thought then, that "anythings possible".

I found a 1900 this summer in a Brinks box, about the 25th roll, I popped it open, and there was this thin thin silver stripe with no reeding left on it. But it was a Barber:)

I found a 1906S on 20 Jul 06 in Abilene, TX out of a $1000 boxed. Wasnt a super haul from the but included a franklin, a few 64's and a dozen and a half 40%s. It was an exciting day. The barber is beat to crap, but still a beauty.

Here are my 4 Barbers in the 2 1/2 years that I've been a CRH

#1 I found in a hand roll in along with some Ben's in Lyon Twsp. Mi 2 1/2 yrs. ago

#2 I got in my Monster Dream Box along with 269 other assorted Ben's and Walkers 1 1/2 yrs. ago
See my story

#3 About a 1 yr. ago, lone keeper that day.

#4 About a month ago, again lone keeper that day

That's it that's all I got.

$107,352.50 in halves searched and not one yet. Maybe this week.

Nine. The oldest an 1894s and the best a 1911xf. Most from rolls. The first one was such a surprise! Saw that smooth edge and thought it was a teens Walker. Never thought I would find one. Found that 1871 and accidentally put it in that dump bag. Still don't know how I did it. Some day I have to get organized.
