The Barley's in & the fun has begun.....

The Saxon Sceat Field was harvested today, we were on one side & the combine on the other. So there are still strips of straw every 5 runs which we will do another time.

Cru'dad is still out of action but helps in GPSing, so it was just me for 3.5 hours:

21 Roman Bronze coins
2 Roman Lead Weights
Nice Roman Brooch
Possible Roman Lead document Seal
Military Roman Dolphin Buckle (only my second fragment ever)

Tomorrow should be better, I'm hoping for a Roman Silver & a nice artifact

Do you mean the difficulty in pushing the detector head throw fresh stubble? If so, its energy sapping work, plus you lose a lot of depth, so we are missing plenty. This is not a problem as we will get another go after the plough & we will have good data to target the best area. The area being several acres big!
